Management: The Senior Advertising Technology Manager ensures that all of the business’s digital/online and advertising campaigns are executed in a timely and accurate manner by the junior ad technology team. The Senior Advertising Technology Manager is also charged with managing and updating the business’s ad technology specifications.
In this capacity, the Senior Advertising Technology Manager acts as an expert and internal reference for other departments in regard to ad technology platforms, processes, and performance. The Senior Advertising Technology Manager also develops and nurtures internal/cross-functional relationships in order to facilitate smooth collaboration and ultimately enable the achievement of advertising, sales, and overall business objectives.
Strategy: The Senior Advertising Technology Manager also plays a strategic role where he aids in the strategic trafficking of campaigns in ad serving platforms as well as the implementation of suitable ad technology tools. In this capacity, the Senior Advertising Technology Manager assists in establishing ad campaigns through superior consumer services, coordinating integration of new ad technology tools and enabling the evolution of existing tools. Analytics: The Senior Advertising Technology Manager is tasked with an analytical role where he coordinates all activities of junior ad technology department analytics. The Senior Advertising Technology Manager directs the implementation of ongoing performance analyses tests for ad technology campaigns. In this capacity, the Senior Advertising Technology Manager tracks, measures, and analyzes the performance of campaigns as well as collects and reviews tech related ad campaign materials for the business.
He also captures and analyzes daily campaign performance metrics and makes campaign optimization decisions in order to guarantee optimal delivery. Knowledge and Opportunity: The Senior Advertising Technology Manager is responsible for the identification, recommendation, and implementation of tools, systems, and processes that improve the business sales operations. He keeps track of industry trends and best practices, which keeps the business at par with the biggest players in the industry.
In this capacity, the Senior Advertising Technology Manager conducts rigorous research and makes recommendations for ad technology campaign improvements. It is also his duty to maintain a thorough knowledge of the business’s digital properties, ad products, ad opportunities, and ad targeting data, flagging discrepancies and errors with campaign materials prior to the launch of campaigns.
Other Duties: The Senior Advertising Technology Manager also performs other similar duties as are necessary for the proper execution of his duties and duties as designated by the Head of Advertising Operations, Director of Advertising, Chief Sales Officer, or the Employer.
Required Qualifications of the Senior Advertising Technology Manager
Education: The Senior Advertising Technology Manager must have bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or any other related field. The equivalent of this requirement in working experience is also acceptable for this position.
Experience: A candidate for this position must have had at least 5 years of experience working in an ad technology position, preferably working as an Advertising Technology Manager. The Senior Advertising Technology must also demonstrate substantial experience working with various software in sales operations for example, SalesForce, Operative, DSM, Oracle, DFP, and so forth. A suitable candidate will also have a proven ability to identify and implement technology and tools that result in the creation of scalable, efficient, and flexible sales operations, advertising campaigns/programs.
The candidate will also have proven and successful experience managing a team through the execution of an ad technology campaign. He will also demonstrate proficiency in standard ad technologies such as display, video, rich media, mobile, broadcast, and text based ads as well as demonstrating considerable experience working with HTML, Flash, and JavaScript.
Communication Skills: Communication skills are also necessary skills for this position, both in verbal and written form. The effectiveness of communication from the Senior Advertising Technology Manager all the way to the junior departments will determine the performance level of the junior ad technology team. Communication skills will also enable the Senior Advertising Technology Manager to draw clear, concise, understandable reports and proposals for junior/senior ad technology management, collaborating personnel, and relevant stakeholders.
